The bus, the bus, the bus is on fire....

Yup. We didn't get our expected evenings entertainment on Sunday as the Bisons team coach apparently set itself on fire whilst driving along the M6 (Maybe it couldn't face being full of beaten hockey players again?).

The club were apparently informed at around 2.30-3.00pm, and were advised that the Bison would not make the stated 5.30pm face-off time, but might be able to make it for 7.30pm (the limit of the EIHLs timeframe for abandonment and fortiture of points). Then, just to make things even more ridiculous, they had the cheek to ask us to abandon early, and award them the points! What the fuck?!?!?!

Anyways, as ever, Neil and the Phoenix crew made the best of a bad situation, by giving the 400 or so fans who stayed on the chance to see the guys play some not entirely serious 3 on 3 hockey, complete with a shootout to decide the winners. It wa svery funny to see Garbutt and Ward put the netties gear on and take up the position between the pipes... and as for some of the goal celebrations, well, they were truly hilarious.

The downshot is with the fixture re-arranged (take that Bison, it wasn't abandoned, so no easy points for you) for next Tuesday (3rd) we have the unenviable prospect of 6 games in 10 nights. Its almost like the first season in the Dome all over again.

Oh, and I can also confirm that the Pyre will be partaking in the Play-Off Weekend Project. Stay tuned for more on that one.

I was amazed too, when I heard what the Bison were after! The cheek of it!
