I have just had a text from tonights game (yes, I'm not there. Can't afford 2 games worth of expenditure this week).
Apparently the crowd is numbering somewhere around 500-550.
Ouch.
This approx figure proves 2 things:
Midweek games have lower attendances.
The Knock Out Cup is seen as being irrelevant to the majority of supporters (around 700 fewer folks at the rink tonight, compared to Sunday, and probably 2-300 fewer than most midweek games).
Personally, I would either withdraw from next seasons K.O.Cup, or push for the league to scrap the competition, and save on the ice time costs. I have a feeling tonights tie will actually end up costing the club money rather than making it any, which in the current economic climate is something we really do not need.

Now there's an idea...
Much like in Manchester, in Coventry you get a lot of people see this as the fill-in cup it was when brought in to fill the gap London left.
Chop it and return to a longer playoffs rather than the knock-out farce we have now-it could be done given that there were a fair few weekends this season where at least one game went to the KO Cup and not the league...
But then, on Wednesday for the Challenge Cup semi the Skydome was barely half-full, so it's not just the KO Cup...
